POSTPONED – Tomar & the FCs | Sydney Wright: Texas Radio Live

Due to severe weather, tonight’s Texas Radio Live featuring Tomar and the FCs and Sydney Wright at Half Step has been postponed. But Half Step on Rainey Street will remain open for business! Sun Radio plans to reschedule the performances for later in the season, stay tuned for updates.

Tomar & the FCs

Tomar Williams got his start singing lead on the Chitlin Circuit with his family band in the late 1980s. In 2015, after several decades as a music producer and side man, Tomar decided to return to his roots as a frontman. He was introduced to a local instrumental band, the FCs, and Tomar and the FCs was born. Over the last decade, the band has earned a reputation as one of Austin’s best live bands with regular performances at iconic venues like the Continental Club, C-Boys, and Dan Electro’s in Houston. They have toured all over the country and have performed at ACL Music Festival, Old Settlers Music Festival, River Revival, SXSW, and Bonnaroo.  Tomar and the FCs have three recordings, the EP Day by Day, and albums Heart Attack and Rise Above. Their new album, Soul Searching, will be released on 2/28/25.

Sydney Wright

Sydney Wright is an artist, songwriter, and sound engineer writing pop songs in Austin, Texas. Her performances include live-recorded loops and Ableton automation that make every show familiar, but different than the last. Since going solo in 2018, Wright has won a major grant from Sonic Guild, appeared on the NPR Austin 100 List, and was nominated for Best Pop Act at Austin Music Awards. Austin Chronicle has called Sydney Wright a “pop polymath” with “lush, layered” songs that build the way a storm gathers.
